The Zodiac 9-man RIB is almost 200 pounds lighter than its larger sibling, the 12-man/550 Pro. This makes it extremely light for it almost 16 foot length. We typically rig this boat with Yamaha’s lightweight F70, making the total weight for this rig only 968 pounds. This makes the boat extremely portable and most any vehicle with a tow hitch will have no problem bringing this boat to the launch. This boat is favored by many sailing clubs due to the low weight and the fuel savings. We commonly rig these boats as chase boats, near-shore fishing and sport vessels. The Pro 500 can also act as a sport tender on larger yachts.
